We are a group of guys in their thirties, we are NOT an association, and we have neither political nor advertising purposes. We just love our land.
The purposes that we have with this page are many, the first of course to raise awareness and make people understand that the phenomenon of waste abandonment is not limited but involves much larger territories and proportions that go far beyond the mere scale of the village or small town.
The shared map was born from the need of many municipalities to map the areas affected by micro-abusive dumping.
Reading the newspapers, we often find statements about the lack of tools for the identification and recovery of abandoned waste (we have devoted time and ideas to the generation of an instrument that solves at least the problem of identification).
We are betting above all on the Sicilians, on the effect of scale that an idea of this type could have. If our idea works and takes hold, why should the Sicilian Region or the Local Administrations waste public money to assign this task, for a fee, to a company?
The third reason, and certainly no less concrete, is the annual collection of all the reports in a formal complaint to the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Ecological Transition (which we pay for out of our own pockets because we have neither funds nor current accounts).
Our purpose is purely philanthropic, because we believe that Sicilians are people capable of reacting with strength and stubbornness, able at least to stem the disgust that we document on our IG page.
